Technical Consultant, Wireless & Mobility (Deerfield Beach, FL)

The Wireless and Mobility Architect main role is to support the sales team in client facing engagements, working to understand their business needs and provide wireless solutions which assist organizations in improving their wireless/security posture within a pre-sales consultative led setting. The Mobility Architect will lead the WLAN projects for the overall logical and technical WiFi network architecture, including all wired/wireless and core components. This candidate will design BOMs/SOWs and be able to successfully implement the hardware and/or software required. It is important the individual will be a team player, working with Architects and other Engineers from the team, and be able to handle working in very diverse client environments.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work with the sales team to assess client’s needs and resources and recommend the appropriate solutions
  • Deliver sales presentations, product demonstrations and webinars
  • Drive Proof-of-Concepts
  • Be responsible for the provision of technical scope information to the account management team. This information may be via written form, face-to-face discussions, or over the telephone, as needed.
  • Attend client conference calls and onsite meetings to provide technical assistance to the account manager contact, ensuring the scope proposed meets the client’s requirements.
  • Work across a range of clients in a centralized manner to provide pre-sales support to a number of opportunities, with the opportunity to align to a small subset of high value accounts to generate in depth knowledge and relationships.
  • Will perform tasks as a pre-sales and post-sale implementation engineer
  • Collaborate with end users and senior management, both internally and externally, to define business requirements for complex systems implementation for all infrastructure plans
  • Provide architectural consulting expertise to clients and make recommendation to clients on implementation plans and be able to identify other areas that may need to be addressed
  • Document and develop in-depth knowledge of company’s existing WiFi network architecture/infrastructure, and technology portfolio
  • Attend vendor training classes and obtain new certifications and/or keep certifications current
  • Learn from Wireless and other System Architects and Engineers
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility
  • Interact with project team members for a successful implementation of the architectural design
  • Define and document the system architecture
  • Recommend, document, advocate and enforce industry best practices to the client
  • Identify, research, select and introduce appropriate new technologies and techniques to current architecture
  • Understand and communicate cost-benefit analysis and associated risks relating to system architecture integrity, sustainability and manageability
  • Support other engineers and clients with questions by participating in problem resolution activities

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Industry Standard Certifications, such as CWNP, CISSP, Network+, etc
  • Vendor Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE Wireless, CCNP, ACMP/ACMX, ACCP/ACCX, ACDX highly desired, but not required

Experience:

  • A minimum of two (5) years of related Wireless experience in a technical capacity
  • A minimum of seven (7) years in networking/IT experience
  • Previous consultative experience desired, but not required

 Other Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong desire to learn new technologies, vendors and keep up with the latest technology
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, network protocols, routing protocols, SSL and IPSEC VPN, Internet security including firewall policies and user roles
  • Detail working knowledge of Cisco, Aruba and Meraki Wireless, other vendors will benefit as well
  • Detail working knowledge of OSI framework, including Layers 1 – 7
  • Familiar with Cisco WLC controllers and ArubaOS and their controller structure
  • Working knowledge of Cisco Prime/MSE, Aruba Airwave and ClearPass platforms
  • Detailed knowledge of core network routing, switching and firewalls
  • Familiar with PCI and other security compliance standards
  • Must be an adept troubleshooter and be able to resolve issues quickly in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent technical architecture and technical support documentation skills
  • Experience in outdoor WiFi a huge plus
  • Must be able to interact with customers, of all skill and executive levels
  • Ability to present ideas to both technical and non-technical skill levels
